Boise State Bronco's first conference game of the 2007-2008 season was a total blow out, beating New Mexico State Aggies 58 to 0.  BSU quarterback, Taylor Tharp, threw an impressive 4 touchdown passes and Ian Johnson had 158 total yards and 1 touchdown.

The Aggies' QB Chase Holbrook left the game in the second quarter after a paintful hit to his already injured ribs.  He was replaced by freshman J.J. McDermott, who struggled to come through for the rest of the game.

Marty Tadman made an impressive hit when he plowed through his New Mexico opponent like a freight train.  Likely he will be receiving the Bronco's "hammer award" for this game.

In the end, BSU had 604 total yards.

ESPN will also be covering the game next weekend.  It is apparent the sportscasters and crew are feeling right at home in Boise, ID, as they will be staying in town all week, saying on camera yesterday that they are planning on doing some fishing in the Boise River.  We are happy to have them.

I was wondering about homes available for sale and whether the reports we had heard about homes not being affordable were true.  Both investors and local residents have a HUGE inventory of available homes in the Boise, ID, area under $200,000.

I completed a search of the Intermountain Multiple Listing Service database this morning, right before posting this comment and there were 460 homes available with the following minimum criteria:

At least 3-bedrooms;
At least 2-baths;
At least 1,200 square feet;
At least a 2-car garage;

and they are located within Boise, Meridian or Eagle, Idaho.

So, take your winnings from the stock market, or step-up to first-time homebuyer programs and let's go buy a house.

Last week on the Today Show, during a segment on the national real estate market, CNBC's Jim Kramer uncompromisingly stated, "now is the absolute worst time to buy!"

Many are concerned that remarks such as these from so-called experts might be pushing potential buyers to the sidelines.

Here's what Gary Keller, co-founder and chairman of Keller Williams Realty, has to say about waiting out the current market:

"First, residential real estate is not a national market product  -  it is a local one.  To say from a national position that this is either a good time or a bad time to buy real estate is like saying the national weather forecast for the U.S. today is 92 degrees  -  it is a useless and irrelevant perspective.  What is happening in your local market is all that matters.

Second, trying to predict when it is a good time to buy, or not, means you're trying to time the market.  Staying on the sidelines is the surest way for most people to never time anything correctly.

Last, and maybe most important  -  there are always two markets in every market.  There is the market of properties that are good buys and there is the market of properties that are not good buys.  Interestingly enough, this is true in either buyer or seller markets.  To categorically say that this is the time to buy or not is absolutely ignoring the fact that every market really has two markets inside it."

For a list of good bargains on homes in Boise, ID, and surrounding areas, simply send an e-mail to Info@TimBurroughsGroup.com with the search criteria you desire.  A list of bargain properties will be e-mailed back to you.

The Boise metro area is currently experiencing a Buyer's Market, which means now is a great time to be a buyer of Boise real estate.
